Individualized Training

athletic development

Every parent wants their athlete to be the most distinguished on the team. For this to be a reality, your athlete needs to have as many tools in their athletic toolbox as possible.

The following are essential in any sport:

  • Acceleration
  • Deceleration
  • Re-acceleration
  • Change direction
  • Learning how to jump and land

Gathering and developing these tools requires two things: sound coaching and consistency.

This is our formula for your athlete to develop pronounced, powerful skills both on, and off, the playing field.

Speed and agility

The reason why a given aspect of an athlete’s performance is fast or slow is a very complex answer.

Do not misinterpret your athlete working hard and burning out in their speed training as effective speed training.

There are many aspects to speed training. Let’s figure out a solution that  sets your athlete apart by improving their first step speed: making it  powerful and injury-free when they have to quickly leverage speed to change direction in their sport.

Strength Training

Not all strength training is just lifting heavy weight. There is a lot in-between. Strength training is the development of specific qualities of force to enhance how we move and function in our environment (sports, life, etc.).

How effective strength training shows up on the field:

  • Watch yourself become faster, with less work.
  • Move with speed and be pain-free.
  • Be the smaller forward against the bigger center back…and win.

Or in everyday life:

  • Return to activities which brought you joy and have since caused pain.
  • Experience higher energy throughout the day so you can focus on your job and more on your loved ones
  • Feel confident and strong.

We will always have a form of strength training incorporated into our time together.
Rest assured, it will be implemented in a way that is totally specific to you.

Pain Management

Has your young athlete been told, “it’s just growing pains: it will pass at some point” or are you an athlete who is constantly sidelined because you keep getting injured?

Have you needed to stop doing an activity that once gave you joy because the pain is so severe?

I would encourage you to not accept that situation.

There are options available to you to change how pressures are distributed in places where air and pressure can go inside your body. This can change the job your muscles are currently performing, and create shifts in joint space to relieve symptoms of pain and get you on a more manageable and pain-free lifestyle.

For athletes: this gets you off the bench and back to dominating your position and sport.

Sport-specific training

Sport Specific Training is a misleading term.

When parents and coaches think about Sport Specific Training, they often picture images of overly complicated drills, which suddenly become “Sport Specific” as soon as you put a ball between their feet or hands during the drill. This kind of training comes nowhere close to replicating the demands your athlete will see in their sport.

All Sport Specific Training should encompass a comprehensive gap analysis of what tasks your athlete must do to do their job effectively, against where they are at currently. Then, you not only have training that is Sport Specific, but you are also putting a name to the areas of growth that your athlete needs.

Let’s cut through the mud of Sport Specific Training and stop wasting your time and money.

muscle gain

Dieting and trying to change your body composition is an extremely personal thing.

  • Maybe you have been small all your life and would love to have just 10 pounds of muscle.
  • Maybe you or your athlete needs to safely grow into a position for their team or sport – there is a right and a wrong way to do this.
  • Maybe summer is around the corner and you want to look buff in a bathing suit.

Let’s get you on a plan that checks these the boxes you want while minimizing how much fat we put on.

weight loss

Are you someone who has tried it all?  Paleo, Keto, Gluten-Free, plant based, intermittent fasting and somehow you end up right back at square one.

Maybe you are currently on a diet and the results are coming too slow or not at all. Is that last bit of fat just not going away after 5 months of dieting?

Dieting for weight loss can be so confusing and frustrating with all the information out there. Let’s work towards a solution that not only works in the immediate, but sustains for years to come.

Habit Change

Sometimes jumping head-on into a diet can be a bad idea. Sometimes, there is deeper work that needs to be done that will give your diet a fighting chance once you’re in a spot to go down that road.

Habit change is incredibly effective tool that we can use to adjust your day-to-day life style in a way that supports your future weight loss or muscle gain diet. Trying to build a house on poor foundation is likely to fail.

Improving Health

Not every diet is geared toward burning fat or putting on muscle. Maybe weight loss or muscle gain is too big a stretch for where you are at habitually and nutritionally – AND THATS OKAY.

Fortunately, there are solutions that exist to improve healthy habits and put you in a better position to make a compositional change.
